Be Selfish.

Hello everyone. Tonight's post is going to be a bit different from my other ones.

It's about being selfish.

All of my life, I have been in shadows. Shadows of family, friends, and even strangers. I am very quick to give up the spotlight for fear of seeming selfish. And do you know where that has gotten me?

Absolutely nowhere.

I'm looking at the people whose shadows I have been basking in, and I realized something: they are selfish. Not in a greedy, "me, me, me" way, but they put themselves first. They see each situation as a means to better themselves, not as an opportunity to watch others succeed.

They fight for what they want, no matter who they are fighting. They know that, in the end, the only person who will always be there for you is yourself. And what is wrong with that?

Yes, your family and friends will be there for you, too. But they can't do nearly as much for you as you can do for yourself. So why is it such a social stigma that looking out for yourself is, as I have said, selfish?

I don't know about you, but I am going to try to start being more "selfish". When I set a goal for myself, I won't let anything get in the way. Not fear of hurting others, not even fear of hurting myself. I have to start living life!

Thus far, the only regret I have in my life is not having "gone for it". Well, you know what? I'm going to go for it! And you should join me. We are happiest when we step outside of our comfort zone. So, my good readers, I am stepping out of the shadow. I'm fighting for what I want--whatever that may be.

Headed Out...

Hey everyone! I 'm sorry that I didn't post a Swoon-Worthy Saturday yesterday! :( Things have been super busy for me lately, but I promise that everything will be back to normal soon. First, though, I'm going out of town for a week. I'm going to schedule some fun posts, but they don't always publish, so I apologize in advance if there is nothing new until next Saturday!
In other news, I'm looking for some new ideas for my blog. If you have anything that you would like to have reviewed or anything that you are just curious about, I'd love some suggestions! Just leave a comment on this post, and I'll try to do as many of them as I can!

See you in a week!

Swoon-Worthy Saturday: Daniel Sunjata

Yes, I'm doing yet another Grey's Anatomy SWS... But who can blame me? You might recognize him from Ghosts of Girlfriends Past or The Devil Wears Prada. He even had a little role in an episode of Sex and the City in 2002. Look out for him in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises--he plays a special operative! Yet another reason I can't wait to see that movie...

Thank You!

Hey everyone! I just want to say a quick thank you for visiting my blog! I've never been in this to become the most popular blogger out there, but recently my views have gone up exponentially. Obviously, this is thanks to you and you only! So...

Nail Love: Orly It's Up To Blue

I have had this nail polish for a long time, but only recently realized how much I love it! It is a great summer color, and doesn't look unflattering on pale skin--which is a plus for me. :)
This is three coats, but two would do just fine.
